Many Hands Make Light Work
Many hands make light work!
LHS FFA workday. Students weeded the daisy patch.
That was completely true today, May 22, with a "work day" visit from LHS FFA!
More than 30 FFA (Future Farmers of America) members & their advisers visited the farm today! They planted hundreds of plants in the new addition to the farm: a labyrinth MT & I designed yesterday. They also weeded the daisy patch & transplanted cosmos. Several fellas utilized my backpack sprayer & fertilized all of my plants on the farm! A group of creative ladies painted beautiful signs that will label a few areas of the farm. They did all of this work & more in just a few hours, saving me many weeks of work! I'm extremely grateful for their visit! 😁

LHS FFA students use backpack sprayer to fertilize the cut flower garden.
LHS FFA students weed the flower garden.
Of course I fed them breakfast & unlimited snacks, then I sent them back to school with you-pick sunflowers & plants!
It was a great visit!
If you're a farmer, contact your local FFA adviser. Invite them to your farm for a tour, work day, or other activity. These students are energetic and eager to learn about farming. It's a win-win for both the farmer and the student.
